Samantha is an accountant and mum of two boys.
Over the years, she’s had so many conversations with adults who feel ashamed to ask money questions, often saying, “I was never taught this.”
That stuck with her. She knew money confidence shouldn’t begin in adulthood. It should start much earlier. In small, simple moments kids can actually understand.
When it came time to teach her own children about pocket money, Samantha began looking for a better way to bring the classic bucket system to life.
That idea became Cosma: a simple, visual way to help kids learn how to spend, save, invest and make confident money choices with their parents by their side.
$5 a month.
No lock in contracts.
7-day free trial.
Unlimited kids per account.

Cosma is designed for kids aged roughly 5 to 12, but it really depends on your child. If they’re ready to talk about pocket money, saving for goals, or making simple spending choices, Cosma can grow with them.

A popular starting point is $1 per year of age each week.
A 7-year-old might receive $7 per week. But there’s no perfect amount. It depends on your family budget, your child’s age, and what you expect them to pay for themselves. Pocket money doesn’t need to be big to be meaningful. The real value is in giving kids regular chances to practise spending, saving, investing and making choices.

Not in our view.
We believe everyday chores are part of being in a family, not something kids should always be paid for.
Pocket money is a learning tool. It gives kids a regular chance to practise spending, saving, investing and making choices — while also recognising the responsibility of showing up, going to school and trying their best.

Cosma is not a bank account, debit card or Visa card.
It’s a tool to help parents manage pocket money, set habits and teach real-life money skills in a simple, visual way.
The money shown in Cosma is managed by the parent. When your child wants to spend their money, the parent covers the purchase and can update Cosma so everyone can see what’s been spent, saved or invested.

Think of Cosma as guided independence.
Parents can set simple boundaries, like budget targets for each bucket, while kids still get the chance to make real choices with their money.
The goal isn’t to make every decision for them. It’s to give them a safe place to practise, make mistakes, and build confidence before the stakes are bigger.Cosma also has built-in safeguards, like a 7-day wait before Savings can be withdrawn, to help slow down impulse spending.

Cosma isn’t available in the app stores just yet. But, we’re working towards it.
For now, Cosma is designed to be used through your web browser, and we recommend using a tablet, iPad or computer for the best experience.
